This narrative is a factual history about some of New Zealand's minesweepers and their ships' companies. At the height of WW2, the New Zealand Naval Board appropriated many commercial trawlers and coastal traders, for conversion to minesweeping and anti-submarine service. It would be a monumental task to record the exploits of all our vessels engaged in attack, escort and defensive duties. Ships and personnel mentioned within these pages thus represent the life and service of all vessels and men so engaged.
